BIO

Frederike Migom is a Belgian actress, screenwriter and film director. She completed her education at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, before studying film direction in Paris. Frederike witnessed the early era and uprise of the Do It Yourself-film culture in New York. She now works in Brussels.

Her short Nkosi Coiffure (2015) won 3 awards: Best short at Valladolid Meeting Point, Washington DC International Film Festival and the Canal + Award at Brussels Short Film Festival. And was also nominated for the Jury Award at the Tribeca Film Festival and the First Prize at the Montréal World Film Festival. Her short Malakim (2013) was nominated in the category Best International Short Film at the Regensburg Short Film Week and won best Fiction Short in Shanghai, and received special mention from the children’s jury at the CMS International Children’s Festival in India.

Frederike's projects received funding by the Flemish Audiovisual Fund for her short Nkosi Coiffure, Si-G and for her feature debut Binti; which is currently in development.
