BIO

Carlo Sironi (born in Rome, 1983) is a filmmaker and screenwriter. He began working as an assistant cameraman and director in both cinema and television. His first short film, Sofia (2008), was in competition at the 28th Torino Film Festival and the 39th Giffoni Film Festival. Cargo (2012), his second short, was in competition at the 69th Venice Film Festival and was nominated for a David di Donatello. His last short Valparaiso (2016) premiered at Locarno Film Festival and was awarded with Film und Video Undertitelung Prize at Pardi di Domani. He is currently developing his first full-length feature, Sole (EAVE 2013, Berlinale Script Station 2017; Cinéfondation Residence 2017, TorinoFilmLab 2017).
